wedding.

if i'm being honest, i'm still not sure why everyone says it's really hard/stressful/exhausting to plan a wedding. planning mine was the easiest thing in the world (which is saying a lot, because stressing is one of my best talents.)

i think part of the reason it was so easy was that i really didn't have any specific hopes or expectations, i just wanted it to be really nice. and it turned out better than i ever could have dreamed. it was the most wonderful, beautiful wedding (maybe i'm biased). literally every last detail was perfect. (my best tip is to choose a reception place that does everything for you. that takes 90% of the  possible stress away.)

we got our wedding pictures back a few weeks ago and we are in love with them. it really was the most magical, perfect day. here are a few* favorites!
(*hit me up if you want to see all 600; i love showing them off.)

i almost lost it just a little when we had to wait an extra half hour for someone to contact our bishop before the sealing. some might argue that i did lose it but i was a really chill bride, so i don't feel too bad about my bridezilla moment.

hugs and happiness.

never a bad moment for a selfie.

peace signs.
my only
our best pose.

shoutout to jen for being the most magical photographer in all of utah. probably in the whole world.

i mean come on. obsessed.

fyi-we may look really happy in these pictures but actually i would have probably murdered someone with my bare hands for food at this point.

we picked the best day. after we left for our honeymoon, the weather got rainy and yucky. we lucked out and got the most perfect, happy, sunshiney day.

flower appreciation.

peace signs always seem necessary, i can't help it.

i felt like a princess and temple square looked like a castle and i got to marry my sweet prince charming. it was an actual fairytale day.

i want to print every single picture and cover our entire apartment with them.

robert took quite a while to kiss me the first time, but ever since then it's been smooth sailing and now we get to kiss each other forever.

trying to be serious is not our strong point but i love this picture anyway.

only smiling because dad went to find food.

peace signs and smiles because it's finally luncheon time. (the luncheon did not disappoint.)

we kept whispering silly things to each other and our poor photographer had to deal with a lot of giggles but can you blame us?

green.

i don't think i'd ever seen anything as beautiful as my wedding cake. the moment i saw it was definitely one of the best parts of the day. maybe that sounds stupid but just ask robert. i was so stoked.
also: being lady-like is not my best talent.

cake time = happy time. i forced him to eat a bite.
he doesn't like cake but i think he secretly loved it because i mean look at how perfect it was.

and i finished the night off with a graceful flower toss.

something they don't tell you about weddings: your wedding day is happiest, most magical, wonderful day. yes. however, it was also the longest, most exhausting day of our lives and by about 2:00 we just wanted it to end so we could hop on a plane and chill on the beach for a week.

i'm kind of glad it's over,
i kind of want to relive the whole thing a million times,
and i'm kind of so so so happy that i get to spend the rest of forever with my robert.

fourth of july.

robert: "have you ever noticed that you like to go all out on holidays and have a bunch of things planned? rather than just chilling?"

...uh fine i love holidays okay. it's just who i am. #sorrynotsorry

i want to say "the fourth of july is one of my favorite holidays," but i've probably said that about every other holiday too at some point. so. i will refrain.

anyway. we did have a really nice time this weekend, although we didn't get as much sleep as we would have liked.

we started off saturday morning bright and early (5:30) and went to the balloon fest.
robert isn't a huge fan of mornings, but he is a huge fan of me, and i'm a huge fan of balloons...so obviously we had to go

they were so big and there were so many of them! it was a lot fun walking around the field as giant balloons blew up around us. we even poked a couple of them just because we could.

(we were thoroughly entertained by the old man blowing giant flames into that balloon.)

giant. balloons. everywhere. i loved it.

hot husband > hot air balloons. (just for the record.)

sorry- i took about a million pictures but i couldn't help myself. it was too cool.

the pictures don't do it justice, but trust me: it was neat.

we bought some plants to help cheer up the apartment (which is coming together quite nicely; perks of having parents who decided to get rid of all their stuff.)

being married is cool because your husband loves you and will probably do all of the things you always wanted to do but never could do because of little brothers; we went to the freedom days market every day it was open. we got henna tattoos. we got giant turkey legs. and robert didn't even complain when i kept wanting to go back. <3

of course, no fourth of july weekend would be complete without ice cream. shout out to maceys for giving away free mini ice creams. and shout out to robert for walking over and getting me one.

market: round 3. fajitas in a pita. we approve.

something great about robert is that he eats desserts (like fruit pizza) with me, even though he doesn't really like them. that's true love.

you know what sucks about the fourth of july being on a monday? you get the monday off, but then you have to go to work the next day after staying up all night watching fireworks.

.....but,
worth it.
because fireworks.

we went and saw tarzan at the thanksgiving point megaplex, and we timed it just right so that the fireworks would start right after our movie ended. (which was a great idea, because we didn't have to worry about finding good parking; we'd already parked 3 hours before!)

i'm so grateful to live in the US.
(also grateful for my cute husband who is so nice and does anything and everything to make me happy.)
it was a 10/10 weekend.
