i haven't blogged in months and i figured that my blogging days were over, but then i decided i actually needed to blog about my robert, because no one knows our story, and it happens to be my number one favorite story of all time.
faq:
how did you two meet?
we met on tinder. i was bored out of my mind, he and all his roommates had decided tinder would be a funny thing to try... (seems so risky, right? what if one of us hadn't gotten on that day?) (don't worry. it all worked out.)
funny story:
robert asked me out multiple times. and i would always be like "yeah sure let's do something" and then later he'd be like "we still cool to go out today?"
and idiot kailey just wouldn't respond.
anyway. i kind of thought robert had given up on me after not hearing from him for a little while.
but then one day
i got a text. robert and i still hadn't met in person yet
after multiple failed attempts at asking me out, he finally sent me a text that said something like : dang it kailey!! i'm definitely getting the hint! but for some reason i still want to meet you.
then i started feeling really bad and i was like : okay okay okay. fine we can go out some time.
and then robert decided not to text back, which i definitely deserved but was not happy about.
finally, finally, finally robert and i planned a date. and i actually showed up for this one. (fun fact. about a week before, i'd had a little breakdown because life was just so dang boring and lonely.)
for our first date, we went out and got crepes. as soon as he suggested it, i was a little bit mad; really, he had to come up with the perfect date idea for me?? i love crepes.
fun fact: robert ordered a crepe with brownies. he doesnt even like brownies.
fun fact: robert's crepe was called "the tinder" and mine was called "the true love" (our first date predicted our future and we didn't even know it.)
the aftermath: robert thought i was pretty but had zero interest in him, i thought he was cute but boring.
fun fact: i didn't ask robert a single question until our 3rd date, and it was only because he forced me to ask one. social skills aren't my best talent.
after the first date, i didn't think i'd hear from robert again, but i decided that if he did decide to ask me out again, i'd definitely say yes.
a few days later, he called. so much cuter than a text, amiright? i had already decided to say yes, but the call solidified it.
so we went out a few more times.
fun fact: i told my parents about him before our 4th date because i was sure it was going somewhere.
fun fact: on our 4th date, robert thought it would be the last time he'd ever go out with me.
fun fact: on our 4th date, robert asked me if we should be boyfriend and girlfriend and i told him i would definitely be okay with that.
fun fact: my roommates told me i was going to marry him. i told them i couldn't marry him because i couldn't tell if his hands were smaller than mine (don't worry, i measured them, they're not.)
fun fact: robert didn't kiss me until our 7th date, which i loved, but also secretly started to wonder if he actually liked me or not.
fun fact: robert didn't think we would date for more than a couple of weeks.
fun fact: robert and i decided we wanted to get married less than a month after we started dating.
fun fact: we've hung out every. single. day. from the time we started dating (with the exception of christmas break when he had to go to hawaii. that was a long week.)
fun fact: this was our first selfie:
we talked about getting married and we set a date (while eating nachos at los hermanos) and scheduled the temple and everything before we got engaged.
one day, robert was acting really weird. i told him he wasnt acting like robert. we'd made plans for 4:00 and then he told me he'd promised to help someone with a lab at 4:00. don't worry, he was actually secretly going to get my engagement ring.
on december 12th we went and saw the lights at temple square.
fun fact: i'd always secretly wanted to go on a temple square date, because everyone does that, and it seemed like that would be really fun. (it was, and im so glad i got to save that date for the love of my life.)
after seeing the lights, my parents dropped us off at home and everyone else went to pick up kyler from work. we walked inside and there was a table full of pictures of us and flowers. he proposed to me on my couch in front of the christmas tree and it was the most wonderful, happy moment.
our wedding is in 35 days.
i cannot wait to marry my robert donaver hanna.
fun fact: robert doesn't get sick. like, he just doesn't. it's kind of weird.
fun fact: robert could probably live off of pickles, carrots, and popcorn.
fun fact: robert has a one eyed pug named eddie.
fun fact: robert's hair is really fun to fluff.
fun fact: one time i got a tummy ache, so robert sat on my couch until curfew and let me sleep so that i wouldn't have to be sick alone.
he's funny and he's kind and he buys me cookies and emoji pillows for no reason. he's honest and he gives the best hugs. he's super smart and he cares about his grades and he works really hard and i'm really glad i get to keep him forever.
fun fact: he's my best friend.
i'm still kind of waiting for the stressful part of wedding planning to sneak up and surprise us, but i don't think it will. we couldn't be more excited.
loving robert is my favorite part about life.
